Call Sentinel is the app you need to help prevent you calling expensive numbers. When calling a number, you can use Call Sentinel to check if it will be charged at a premium and try to provide an alternative free number – SAVING YOU MONEY.

The cost of calling a phone number from your mobile phone depends on the digits it starts with. You might think that all calls will be included within your inclusive minutes that youve already paid for, but in a lot of cases they are not.

When you are told about charges you are not generally given the full costs. When calling some numbers you’ll be charged a Service Charge and an Access Charge.

The Service Charge is charged by the organisation you are calling. The amount of the Service Charge is set by them, and should be stated anywhere the number is advertised.

The Access Charge is the amount that is charged by your network provider and this differs for all network providers. Sometimes the Access Charge costs a lot more than the actual Service Charge.

We think that users arent suitably informed about these charges, and the Call Sentinel app was created to try and help with that.

Call Sentinel will monitor any calls you are making, and if we think you are calling what could be an expensive number, it will show you the estimated call costs. Note you should enter your mobile phone number and select your network provider so we can provide the most accurate information.

You can choose to continue calling the number you entered, but at least you will be fully informed about how much that call might cost you.

In some cases, Call Sentinel might be able to provide you with a cheaper alternative number to the expensive one you are calling. In some cases these alternative numbers wont cost you anything.

We have a large directory of cheaper numbers for a lot of services/companies. This directory will be updated as we find more numbers.

From within Call Sentinel you can also make a Directory Enquiry to try find the best number for a particular organisation, or a cheaper alternative number for an expensive number that you have. In some cases a Directory Enquiry will receive an immediate response, and in some cases it might take some time for one of our operators to find the number for you - you will be notified on any Directory Enquiry results.

We hope that Call Sentinel will help reduce the size of your bills, or at the very least make these calling costs a lot more transparent.
